TC Discount Tires, an extension of our vocational training program, officially opened on July 19th, 2013. While providing the community with affordable tires at great savings, we are also training our students and staff through hands on training. This involves learning how to mount and balance tires and wheels; repairing flats and other mechanical skills. TC Discount Tires is not just a tire shop but also a place where our Teen challenge staff and students can learn a new trade as they are discipled.

National Events

The U.S. Open is a major training ground for the staff and students of Long Island Teen Challenge. It provides excellent vocational training in many different aspects. The U.S Open teaches the men and women different skills, such as: security officers, event staffing, managing concessions stands, and high volume cooking and prepping in the top concession stands in the park. The hands on training, social skills and managerial experience that this venue provides is priceless!

Long Island Teen Challenge staff and students are called to serve at the New York Auto Show, as part of our vocational training program. The Auto show is a place where they have some of the best cars and trucks ever seen all under one roof.
In 1900, the New York International Automobile Show became North America’s first automotive exhibition. For over one hundred years, through depression, war, boom-time, oil crisis, recession and growth, it has continued its pioneering tradition of bringing new and innovative ideas to a national and world stage. In the last decade, the Show has boosted the number of new vehicle announcements, broken attendance figures, and increased media attention to extraordinary levels.
Combined with the City’s energy, and the fact that metro New York is one of the nation’s largest markets for new car and truck sales, the Show is now one of the most important automotive events in the world.

In addition to its place as one of the world’s greatest public shows, NYIAS has expanded its range of world-class trade and industry events. Today, nearly 100 individual events, conferences, industry forums, symposiums, award ceremonies, roundtables, and parties take place during the Show’s press preview week – in addition to the more than two dozen press conferences hosted by the automakers.

The BIG APPLE BARBECUE BLOCK PARTY is one of the country’s premiere festivals, attracting people from near and far to celebrate America’s authentic culinary and musical traditions in Madison Square Park each June. Event admission is free for this weekend long event that boasts award-winning barbecue and Southern-inspired fare from the country’s top pitmasters, and features live performances from emerging and established musical artists.
